Know everything about the different controls and thermostats for heaters

We offer our customers the best technologies and a wide range of appliances to choose from.

Thermor is an expert brand unanimously recognised, since 1931, for its French know-how in heating systems. We offer our customers the best technologies and a wide range of appliances to choose from. In this way, everyone can find a Thermor equipment adapted to its needs, taste and budget!

This article focuses on the different controls and thermostats used in our heaters. Thermor heating appliances work with two main types of thermostats:

Mechanical Thermostats

There are different kinds of mechanical thermostats:

  • Very simple bimetal contacts
  • Fluid based sensor models

The difference between both kinds is their reactivity. It ranges from 4° to less than 2°. The sensitivity of human skin feels temperature differences of 2° maximum. Therefore, to preserve your comfort, a good heater should not deviate more than 2°.

Thermor uses fluid based sensor models, allowing a cost efficient and ideal comfort.

Mechanical convectors are fitted with a temperature control knob and an ON/OFF switch.

Electronic Thermostats

  •  The sensor measures permanently the room temperature and transmits these values to the electronic controller.
  •  Then, the thermostat controls the working time of the heating element in order to reach but not exceed the set temperature.
  • The high precision of +/- 0.5° and the dedicated algorithms ensure the best possible comfort level.
  • The user interface can be either digital or traditional with a switch and control knob.

Know that almost all Thermor convectors, radiant panel heaters and radiators are equipped with electronic thermostats and digital controls:

LCD Digital Controls

Several Thermor convectors are equipped with different LCD digital controls showing the temperature, energy consumption and different mode (Eco/Comfort/Prog/Manual).
